Crusade Number 19
In True "better late than never" fashion, I finally get my act together to join the now finished crusade called "CUT IT OUT" a journey into stencil cutting. There are some amazing examples of serious stencil cutting.
I must say my contribution was done in a half hour window. I borrowed Ursula's stencil burner. I have cut many, many stencils in my time as a screen printer - but have never used the burner. When I saw my crude results I kinda see why! Anyway - thank you Michelle for once again providing an amazing tuition and some almighty inspiration.
Megan - love this birdie branch! Pretty good for a half hour! Thanks for showing the detail with the brayer - another great way for using the stencil. Much different than screen printing don't you think? Thanks for playing.

What a GREAT stencil! I love how big it is. I can see much use for it and the mask. Quite a handy tip using the sponge roller. Love the blue colour too.
BTW the more you use the stencil burner the better it will be, also the actual plastic you burn has different effects so don'y give up! Ux

Oh wow! I really love this - and my favorite subject too!! It should be great fun to play around with... my task for today is trying to cut out some stamps from wine corks (lots of corks to play with - lol!) xoDeb

A brayer - why didn't I think of that?? (doh!) Love the birds complete with their own branch. BTW I was kinda late on this one too LOL

I wouldn't have done anything nearly as nice in under an hour. The birdies are terrific.

I'm quite impressed with your results, especially in so short an amount of time! I like the silhouette of the birds on the blue background... very nicely done!

Hi Megan,
I keep thinking to take part in Michelle's little adventures, but somehow never get around to it. it looks like you had a great time in that half hour.
Thanks for your comments about "texture". it was certainly my pleasure to play in your book.
I LOVE your cake paintings!!!
